Omar Y. Abdelaziz received his B.Sc. degree in Petrochemical Engineering from Cairo University in 2013, ranked first with distinction. After graduation, Mr. Abdelaziz was appointed as a Teaching Assistant at Cairo University where he obtained his M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering in 2015. His main fields of interest include biorefineries, process simulation & integration, and biomass valorization. Currently, he is working on his Ph.D. degree at Lund University under the guidance of Prof. Christian Hulteberg and Prof. Charlotta Turner. His research focuses on the depolymerization of lignin within a project funded by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, exploring novel routes for lignin valorization.
