Mynta Norberg joined the Green Technology Group as a PhD student in 2021. Her research focuses on novel applications of analytical methodology to simplify and improve confidence in the qualitative and quantitative determination of technical and depolymerized lignin. She uses both basic techniques such as gas chromatography – flame ionisation detection to support applied analysis, along with advanced techniques such as supercritical fluid chromatography – ion mobility mass spectrometry (SFC-timsTOF). Novel data analysis tools are being developed to guide and interpret the results of the SFC-timsTOF analysis, which will reveal more information about the features of complex lignin samples.
